Tax Penalty To Be Heavy Delinquent Taxes Notice
Delinquent state and county taxes can be paid with a six percent penalty now but after July 3 the penalty rises to ten percent plus six percent interest from when the tax first became delinquent. The Legislature set a gradual increase ending July 1, with old penalties added after that date, bringing 30 percent for 1930 delinquencies, 24 percent for 1931, and 18 percent for 1932. Paying before July 1 yields substantial savings, says Tax Collector Mrs FE W Speed.
