Memorial notice for Mrs. P. Smith obituary

Mrs. P. Smith of South Carolina died April 6 1940 at age 70 years 7 months 12 days. Born in her native state she moved with parents to Whitney Texas and later taught at Baylor University and Albany Texas. She married Silas Paris Smith Jan 4 1894. two sons survived, one is Dr. Nelson Smith. She joined the United Baptist Church and was remembered for her devotion and civic work. The family thanks friends and neighbors for help and floral tributes during illness and after death.

A light to moderate rain fell Friday night and Saturday in South Copperas. Mr. and Mrs. Theron Morrow hosted friends for a singing last Thursday. Boyd Honored With Family Birthday Gathering

On Sunday April 7 O. Boyd of Sidney was surprised by a gathering of his children for his eighty ninth birthday. The event marked the first reunion in nine years with four generations present including Mr and Mrs A B Boyd and their children, and relatives from Abilene Pecos and Sidney.

Indian Creek Methodist Church Sunday schedule

The church lists its pastors for each Sunday of the month with Rev. H. J. Sanders on the first, Rev. J. D. Smoot on the second, Rev. E. T. Moore on the third, and Rev. Duffy on the fourth. Singing is planned for the second and fourth Sunday nights. Sunday School meets every Sunday at 10 o'clock. A hearty welcome is extended to all.

Brysonville School Names New Principal For Next Year

At Brysonville School District trustees meeting Charles J. Moore of Newburg was elected principal for next year. Mrs. Helm, retiring as primary teacher after eight years, was re-elected. Moore, new to Brysonville, is completing college work at Daniel Baker and plans a vocational agriculture degree from A M in about two and a half years.
