Bear Hunt Chronicles and Camp Meeting Roots in Davis Mountains
The narrative recounts a dramatic bear hunt with riders, dogs, and a packed hide, then shifts to the explorer’s return to El Paso and Texas ranch life. It notes mounting a bear head, gifting claws as watch fobs, and a Washington department interest leading to a grizzly record claim. It closes with Bloys Camp Meeting's 1890 origins and a 3000-person annual turnout.
