Red Cross Auxiliary Promotes Stock Show Festivities

Colville and county Red Cross auxiliaries plan amusement tents a street parade a harvest festival and auctions during the October livestock show with food stands and a Kaiser be hurling booth to raise funds. The Stevens County Livestock Association releases its premium list and previews judging seminars and an educators institute aligned with the event.

Colville to Open Fourth Liberty Loan Drive With Film and Speech

Colville plans a Saturday night drive opening for the Fourth Liberty Loan with a war film and a speech. Admission will be free but attendees must fill out application cards, bond sales to begin in Stevens county with a 10 percent upfront payment. County quotas and sub-chairmen for Colville district announced, Marcus exceeded its quota in two hours with 7400 raised against 6900 allotted.

Hunters Fair Celebrates Southwestern Stevens County Exhibit

The eighth annual Hunters fair of the Southwestern Stevens County Association ran September 19 to 21. J. M. Glasgow presided, Elias Nelson served as secretary, and diverse exhibits showcased fruit vegetables stock and crafts. Notable prizes went to Mrs. W. E. Lockman and Mrs. Lydia Latta, with judges including Prof. E. E. Elliott and Miss Jennie McCormack.

Trophy Train Here October 7 In Colville

Local Liberty Loan committee plans to host a breakfast for soldiers and marines aboard a trophy train touring Washington for the Fourth Liberty Loan drive. The train arrives Colville at 4 am and departs at 10 am with war trophies on display.
