Special features planned for the Stevens County Livestock show and fair on September 29 to October 1 include aeroplane exhibitions with flights priced at 10 dollars per brief ride, down from 15 last year. Bresnahan Receives Army Discharge and Plans Vocational Training
Raymond R. Bresnahan has been discharged from the army and is back in Colville after two years at Letterman General Hospital in San Francisco recovering from Argonne injuries. His right arm nerves were severed and two operations were performed. He hopes to enter a government vocational education school soon after his return, after brief visits in Seattle and Centralia.

Merle Starr and his wife Ruth McKern, married in Newport on September 6, returned from a brief honeymoon touring relatives and fairs. They visited Mrs Starr's brother in Northport then Spokane for the Interstate fair, Kennewick for family ties, and Ritzville for the Adams county fair, ending with a welcome from Colville friends. The couple plan to live in Colville in Mrs Donnell's house, staying with Mrs Starr temporarily.

Colville Valley Pioneer Margaret Montgomery Dies in Spokane
Mrs Margaret Montgomery a Colville valley pioneer died at her daughter M I Poole's Spokane home at 70. She lived in Colville valley 65 years, came from Redwing Minnesota at age five, and spent six years with her daughter in Spokane. Funeral was held in Chewelah. Survived by daughters Mrs Poole of Spokane and Mrs Delia Hastings of Seattle and sons Thomas I Montgomery of Colville Archie V Montgomery of Wenatchee and Carl Montgomery of Portland. Death from a stroke six weeks prior.

Legion to Present Slippery Gulch at Fair
At the local American Legion post meeting it was decided to present the show Slippery Gulch at the Stevens County Livestock Show and Agricultural Fair the last of the month. An Armistice Day program with a guest speaker, banquet and dance is being arranged. The ladies auxiliary officers were elected: Grace Sperry president J Dupuis vice president L Donley secretary Muriel Rhoden treasurer. The auxiliary meets the 3rd Friday 7 to 8 PM before the Legion meeting.

Legion Delegates Head to Cleveland Convention
