Thanksgiving observances and local gatherings fill Colville
Union services were held at the Congregational church with Rev. G. E. Whitten delivering the sermon "Where Are the Other Nine." A large local program featured third and fourth graders in songs, recitations, and a play "Little Pilgrim Play." About 800 turkeys were sold by Colville dealers, all locally raised, with participants including E. Grubb and J. A. Newcomb among many others. Numerous families hosted Thanksgiving dinners across town, including Mr. and Mrs. George Seal, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Walsh, and Mrs. C. R. Hall, among others, with gatherings at homes on Main Street and nearby areas. Several residents spent the holiday in neighboring towns or with relatives, and the note ends noting continued reporting on page three.
