Ten Year Lease For Michigan Lumber Plant In Colville

The Colville Chamber of Commerce leases part of the fair grounds to a Michigan lumber manufacturing concern for ten years. Construction starts immediately on a large plant to produce finished lumber for eastern assembly, with 50 jobs anticipated and a 1500 foot spur to the Great Northern tracks. If the main plant opens within a year or if operations cease for a year, the lease ends and land reverts to the chamber. The move is expected to attract other firms and boost local opportunities.
