Legislature Passes Broad Reforms and New Codes
Olympia notes the eleventh session approved a sweeping set of laws including a new criminal code and horticultural code, educational reforms, anti racing gambling measures, road funding, and local option changes. A dedicated investigative committee is appointed to probe the insurance department, with a July 12 deadline. The session also created nationwide power shifts in railroads, elections, and state governance.
