Miss Wilhelmina Glokner arrives from New York City to serve Stevens County as the 22nd county tuberculosis nurse in Washington. She will office at the courthouse with Saturdays in person and monthly reports to officials, aided by the Stevens County Antituberculosis League which funded an automobile for her use.

Ciruolo Sentenced to Ten to Twelve Years in Prison
Carmine Ciruolo, convicted of murder in the second degree for the killing of Alfonzo Palombo in Northport on March 1, was sentenced on Tuesday to hard labor at the state penitentiary in Walla Walla for a term of not less than ten nor more than twelve years. The judge criticized gun ownership and noted self defense did not justify the killing.

Plans show seven miles of road originally built from Colville toward Chewelah with Spokane county extending northward. The road now runs from Spokane to Chewelah, and a recent legislative appropriation of 825000 dollars will finish building and surfacing the Stevens county segment up to Colville.

Colville Boy Serves With Marines On Guam
Edward C. Leonard of Colville, son of William Leonard, joined the U S marine corps last August at Spokane and trained at Mare Island. He departed to Guam last November after a stop in the Hawaiian Islands. Guam, ceded by Spain after the Spanish America war, is a tropical island with about 14 000 people, mostly Chamorros, where marines guard American interests.

Thirty five purebred animals sold at a Colville livestock sale with buyers present though money was tight. Shorthorns reached up to 200 dollars for a male and 160 for a female while Jerseys saw top bids around 425 dollars for a four year old cow. Multiple consignors from Colville to Daisy contributed, and organizers plan another sale in the fall.
