Local Land Proofs and Hotel Dispute in Kettle Falls
Local notes report final proofs before U S land commissioner Jacob Stitzel at Colville on June 12 13 for timber and stone and five year homestead entries by named applicants. A hotel property dispute in Kettle Falls pits Stayt against Munro over the Rochester Hotel site with a suit filed in superior court. Also included is a testimonial endorsing Dr King s New Discovery for coughs colds and lung issues with a trial bottle offered.

Kettle Falls Chewelah duel draws season crowd at Colville
Last Sunday the County Baseball League game between Kettle Falls and Chewelah drew a season high crowd. Chewelah led in the sixth but Kettle Falls rallied, the ninth tied, and in the tenth Kettle Falls survived a Chewelah threat on a Brownlow catch. Discontent over umpiring and two close calls sparked talk of impropriety. Next Sunday Kettle Falls visits Colville. a Stevens County Pioneer Association meeting is planned for Chewelah on June 30 with speakers Levi Ankeny and L. B. Nash.
