Old Dominion makes ore shipment to Northport

Two ore cars shipped from the Old Dominion mine to Northport mark the first run under Dominion Silver Lead Mining Co with W H Linney as president and manager. The ten patented claims are incorporated for ten thousand shares. Colville ownership is noted.

Loucks narrowly escapes mill accident in sawdust conveyor

Thomas Loucks son of Mr and Mrs J H Loucks suffered a broken ankle in a peculiar sawdust conveyor mishap at the Loucks mill. After closing time he remained to clean up and became tangled, his clothes stripped as he crawled to the engine for help. He was hospitalized and recovering.

Colville Song Shop A Successful Enterprise

Miss Hazel Emery runs the Colville Song Shop in Stevens county showing rapid growth over six years. Starting with sheet music and a rented piano, she secured Columbia phonograph and Century Music Co. agencies, expanded three times, and now owns the building. She also handles dances, theatre work, and county agent office duties since 1920, with her mother assisting in the shop.

Washington Farm Census Shows Growth Across Measures

Preliminary census data for Washington state reports 66,288 farms covering 13.2 million acres with 7.13 million improved. Farm value totals 1.057 billion dollars, up 66 percent in ten years. mortgaged farms number 497. White farmers total 65,022 with breakdowns by nativity and role. Native owners 34,970. foreign born owners 17,214. Colored farmers total 1,266 with 517 owners and 740 tenants. Female farmers number 2,433 with 2,261 owners.
