Notable Spokane Lawyer Voorhees Dies After Illness
Charles S. Voorhees longtime Stevens County lawyer died in Spokane after a weeklong illness caused by heart failure. Born 1852 Covington Indiana he helped Washington gain statehood in 1889 and practiced law with his brothers in Colville and Spokane. The Stevens County Bar Association and Judge Carey honored his memory with court adjournment.
