No Appointments As Taft Ties District Jobs to Senator Jones

They claim Jones communicates with local stand patters in Spokane North Yakima and Walla Walla to decide nominees. Officials note 15 to 20 offices now open due to expired terms resignations and interim appointments until Washington settles faction control.

Inland cement plant to be built on Pend Oreille shores

The Inland Portland Cement Company plans a $1,000,000 plant on the east shore of Pend Oreille opposite Metaline with a 2000 barrel daily output and a 10,000 horsepower power house to be built near Sullivan creek. The project includes 12 camps employing about 250 men and a July operation start. The long range railroad and mine connections are detailed along Box Canyon and Sullivan creek with a new bridge and tramways planned to link Metaline district mines to the railroad.

Wetterer granted Marcus telephone franchise. Stephen Bennett contracted to furnish 150 cords wood.
