Colville Valley Lumber Co organized with 30000 paid capital to establish a lumber finishing and manufacturing plant north of the Great Northern depot Colville. Boy Dies From Freezing After Nighttime Kidnapping Near Fruitland
Sheriff W H Graham and Deputy Frank Ham were ill with flu when Irvin Bailey aged 3, son of Mr and Mrs Chas Bailey, vanished from a farm near Fruitland. Investigators found the child’s body after a trace in crusted snow showed he crawled through a window to the porch. The boy was barefoot in night clothes and the early morning temperature was 20 degrees below zero.
