Stunt flyer Sergt Sansburn seeks aviation transfer after thrill ride

Sergt George T. Sansburn of Colville writes from Camp Wheeler Georgia about his first aeroplane ride at the Southern Field Americus. He describes a 3500 foot loop, a corkscrew twist, and a near sickening 1000 foot dive before a safe landing. He hopes Major Hodges can arrange a transfer to aviation. Mechanical Training Offer at Washington State College

The War Department shifts thousands of enlisted men to colleges for two months of intensive mechanical training in auto operation wireless telegraphy blacksmithing carpentry sheet metal work and repair. Washington State College will offer four and eight month courses in blacksmithing carpentry mechanics drafting and engine operation starting October 1 open to those with eighth grade education and good character.
