Federation meeting at Springdale boosts Stevens county exhibits
The Stevens County Federation of Commercial Clubs met in Springdale on August 15 1911. Delegates from Colville Chewelah Marcus Valley and Bossburg discussed gathering exhibits for the Great Northern exhibition car and the Northwestern Land Products Show in St Paul. They planned district representatives to collect items for the Spokane Interstate Fair and the Stevens County Fair, discussed finances and premiums, and invited a September meeting be held in Bossburg. Mayor Hindley of Spokane addressed the gathering urging regional unity and renewed prosperity.
