West Side defeated East Side in a 6 to 3 city league matchup. Marcus led with eight runs and Colville posted three. Skinny Bill Laird was solid until a rough ninth inning, when three late runs sealed the loss for Colville.
The Colville nine suffered an 8 to 3 defeat as Wyatt and Oberhansly pitched with mixed success. Richardson and Hydoin starred at infield, while Grover Graham led catching and Wernl at first base. About 100 fans traveled to Marcus, and officials note potential with more practice and warmer weather. County tax breakdowns and school funding details accompany game notes.
Judge Joseph Sessions in Davenport dismisses the Hugson v Wingham case with prejudice and costs in favor of Charles Wingham. Plaintiffs claimed odors noises and flies from the slaughter house harmed their farm home. Defense produced experts to counter sanitation claims.
