The Reeves-Seward Co. unveils a Seward Special prize wheel guaranteed equal to any lady's wheel. The wheel will be displayed in their window and eligible Columbus residents may vote via daily coupons in The Star until July 4. Voting requires a subscriber and mailed ballots marked Believele Contest.
Attempted jail delivery by Frank Spar the forger and accomplices was halted when Sheriff Weddle uncovered the plan in the Franklin jail on Saturday. The prisoners worked to pry brick from a four brick thick wall using a file and iron. Spar was moved to Jeffersonville on Sunday to begin a five year sentence after forging a check on Franklin bank.
The Pullman Company shows no bonded debt with 8 percent annual dividends and a surplus over 25 million dollars. The Lake Erie and Western pushes shop repairs while Peru 150 workers and Lima 300 at work. Officers at several railroads announce resignations and leadership changes. Directors consider large steel rail purchases amid low prices and the Chicago Eastern Illinois pays cash for the Chicago Paducah and Memphis in a bond-financed deal.

A 6 year old horse is for sale aside from a note about a surprise party. Last evening Thomas Hull and wife were surprised on the 19th wedding anniversary when about thirty couples entered and took possession for a festive evening. A good lunch, music and recitations made the event enjoyable.
Arthur Overstreet assignee of Frank M. Stevens & Son says stock of goods was not sold to Edinburg parties or anyone else. He had been negotiating with Edinburg men and others but no trade had been completed.
F Victor Lynch posing as a representative of P F Collier & Co. cased city schools with introductions from Supt Carnagey and Ency The Star notes he collected a few orders while misrepresenting Carnagey privileges. He fled on the northbound train pursued by police. Miss Myrtle Keil was rescued from boarding with him. unpaid bills and a board bill of 12 dollars remain.
Noble Ellis, at his Greenfield home, is seriously ill with facial paralysis. His brother Mr Gee Ellis told reporters last night that recovery chances are against him.
Last night at 7 30 o clock the marriage joined Mr Harry Wagoner and Miss Monta Davis at Rev Fuller Swift s residence. The bride wore silk wool novelty and the groom in black. Guests included Miss Dora Shields and Mrs Rachal Hudson. The couple will reside with the groom s parents four miles southwest and later take over the Wagoner homestead. The Star extends congratulations.
George Reynolds a farmer on the Al King farm near Clifford sold his household goods to Frank Snyder for $6.25 in the city yesterday. Reports say Mrs Reynolds before marriage was involved with her brother in law Ace West and she refused to marry him. Reynolds plans to move to Illinois after disposing of his possessions.
H E Wells city electrician of Columbus visited Hope to discuss an electric light plant proposal with local business leaders. Councilman C B Cook accompanied him as they outlined a $1800 system for 650 lights including twelve street lamps and a $75 monthly operating cost. The plan would become self supporting after repayment, then reduce lighting charges to residents.
