Also Charles Lacey receiver vs Jacob Davis and John M Davis with noted default and judgment for plaintiff for 38465 including 34538 attorney fees. A tornado ten miles south of Gadsden last evening destroyed fences and buildings along a twenty mile path. J W Driskill’s barn and outbuildings were wrecked, James Newton’s house and stable lost their roofs, and trees were snapped across the area including East Gadsden and the Oliver farm where no trees survived.
The Ohio Trap Shooters League tournament ended in Springfield on June 5. Heikes and Rike won the Sportsman's Review cup with 49 of 50 targets. Mrs. C. E. Myers received the Schultz Trophy Cup. The 1898 event is planned to be held in Springfield.
