Stable Lot Burial Ends Bob Laughlin Tragedy in Avausta
In Avausta Kentucky on January 11, the body of Bob Laughlin the double murderer was buried in a grave on a stable lot corner in front of a large crowd. Laughlin’s mother was carried from her sick bed to view the burial and the song Nearer My Home was sung as requested. Ben Laughlin, his oldest brother, who was executed Saturday at Brockville, is noted for living apart from neighbors and for building a towering monument of stones on his father’s farm ridge known as Ben Laughlin's monument.
