The Ladies musical club of Colum bus presented a program at the M E church last evening to a large audience. The decor was floral and selections were well received including The Wheat Field chorus and the Mandolin club piece Sill in the Forest. Miss Lizzie Ruddick sang Elizabeth prayer and Annie Doup played Faust with praise. Elizabeth Ruddick and Annie Doup received flowers. Piano quartet by Wertz Stevens Taylor drew praise and the Roses and Violets duet also was well received. The Grand Galop de Concert piano quartet by Butler Voris Long and McEwen was the highlight and the best piece.
Rev Harper left for Martinsville yesterday and will move in about two weeks. Mrs Will Treadway visited her mother in Noblesville for a week. Gurnie Reeves and H H Bassett were northbound yesterday. Miss Parker of Shelbyville and Miss Wadley of Dubuque are visiting Miss Lillie Donner. Dr Smailey of Hartsville was in the city. Wm Doty of Burnsville and Ott Johnson from Indiana and Edinburg visitors yesterday. Harry Thompson arrived from Anderson to visit friends. George Johnson came from Edinburg for an evening with friends and business. John Burgall of Cincinnati, representing Larue Looker Liquor Co., in city on business with Herman VonStrohe & Co. Miss Lillie Donner returned from Shelbyville. Mrs Albert Ray of Shelbyville stopped briefly en route to Edinburg to visit her mother Mrs Armstrong. Mrs Shucks of Corydon, visiting A G Cook, returned home yesterday. G A Meranda went to Seymour on a visit. Ben Hutchins and others left for Anderson for Knights Templars convention.
In Ogilville health is generally good though Brother Haney is not well. Martin preached Saturday and Sunday to solid attendance, praised as an able speaker with clear Word interpretation. Brethren Beck's Grove joins in welcoming him back to the community.
