Sweeney Wins Bank Case Over Breath County Bonds

The Indiana Supreme Court ruled in favor of Patrick H. Sweeney in the Marion Childers suit against Sweeney and the First National Bank of Jeffersonville over ownership of five Breath County bonds held by the bank as trustee. The case, tried in New Albany on venue change and appealed by Childers, affirmed previous rulings and outlined demurrer and contract interpretation standards.

Aged Citizen Stadler Retires From Tailoring Due To Ill Health

Mr Stadler a respected local tailor, age about sixty five, has retired from business because of ill health. A kick from a horse years ago led to a bruising growth now described as cancerous, causing him great trouble. The Star wishes him a speedy and permanent recovery.

A buggy driven by Frank Dotty of Maple Grove collided with an eastbound motor car near the Pulley Works last night around 6 30. Both vehicle occupants escaped with slight injuries while the horse was unharmed. Motorman Cavanaugh led the car. no blame assigned.
