The funeral of Rosa Parker was held at 11 o clock this morning at the residence on north Merhanie street led by Rev Tritt. Burial followed at City Cemetery.
The Presbyterian Ladies Society Circle elected officers for the ensuing year. Mrs. Chas Compter was chosen President, Mrs. L. K. Ong Vice President, and Mrs. Smith Abbott Secretary and Treasurer.
Appellate Court 2461 Tell City v Hiesefeld Perry CG reversed. The court holds a city has no power to authorize building a pair of scales on its highways and may remove them at will. The owner cannot complain if removal occurs in a proper and careful manner.
Oskins Hugh Hoskins aged seventy four died yesterday at his Edinburg area home. Funeral is planned Sunday at two p m at St George's Lutheran church in Shelby County. He was brother of Mrs Morgan Quick who lives nearby. Also funeral for Joseph Cottrell will be held at the family home on Warner Avenue Sunday morning at nine o'clock. Burial will follow in Edinburg.
Citizens of Clifford convened in the town hall Friday and nominated officers for the year. J. B. McQueen elected chairman and W. E. Pancake secretary. Ward nominees include James Bayless Sr in the first ward, James Bayless Jr in the second, John B. Carter in the third, with Chas Sullivan as clerk and treasurer and James Baker as marshal.
Robert Hancock of Elwood visits city friends. C BR Hart of South Bethany in town today. Chas Thompson, lately ill at Mattoon Illinois, is reported much better. The Epworth League plans a sunrise prayer meeting at five thirty in the morning.
The Ayers Co will pave Washington Street with cement curb and street work starting Monday. They can lay 1000 square yards daily and have 15000 square yards under contract across 9 blocks, enough to finish in about fifteen days if needed to meet the encampment deadline.
Jack Poling died at his residence about six miles west of Nashville Friday evening from consumption. He was buried Sunday at Brummett Cemetery. Mr Poling was a brother of postmaster Poling of Nash.
The Brown county total cost of criminality for the past year stands at 585.19 dollars. Only three Indiana counties Ohio Union and Scott recorded smaller expenses for criminals.
Ed Kennedy, a bright young man from Brown County, has graduated from the medical college in Indianapolis and has located in Nashville. The Brown County Banner predicts a bright future for him.

The Christian churches of the Elev enth District of the Indiana Mission ary Societies will meet at Jonesville on April 11 12 and 13. The Women's session will be on Monday afternoon and evening followed by Missionary S S and Y P S BE sessions. The Jonesville church will entertain all visitors free.
All available engines on the Southern Indiana line were put to work moving large contracts of stone from Bedford to the Pan Handle and to the Big Four at Westport for shipment east. The process will take time due to the vast volume of stone to be moved.
Telegram from Henderson Bros. to George J. Winans states the Hesperia will dock in New York on April 25 and bring Br. George L. Curtiss’ body to Columbus, expected to arrive there by April 27.
Wm Waltman of Brown County and three sons came Thursday and left Friday after bringing four teams and big road wagons. They took a load of around 4000 tape trees in Brown. Mr Waltman is now building a large dwelling and barn on his fruit farm called Mountain View near Georgetown.

H Prather of Jonesville has developed a toilet soap praised as a wonder and now plans to relocate his manufacturing to Columbus. He operates a limited facility at Jonesville and seeks larger production here with support from local residents. The Star extends a warm welcome to Prather and his plant.
