Commencement Exercises End Season at Columbia High

The twenty eighth annual Columbia High School commencement was held at Crump's theatre. Fifteen girls and six boys in the class of 1900 received diplomas under the color scheme wine and light blue. Speeches covered republics, liberty, and patriotism with multiple speakers including Edith Van Buskirk Duncan and Lillian Marie Volland. The program included musical selections by the orchestra and chorus, with diplomas awarded by Supt. J. A. Carnagey.

The Forest Mississippi business district burned causing an estimated loss of 200000. Grain and Flour Prices As Markets Report May 23

Cincinnati May 23 price notes show flour types with ranges from low to high including spring fancy at about 3.10 to 3.93 and winter patent around 3.45. Wheat No 2 reds quoted at about 1.20 on track, corn Yellow ear track sales around 42 cents, mixed high color at 42 cents, market data lists various grades and futures values.
