The Goebel assassination cases will not be tried in Frankfort. Officials announce that venue will be moved to avoid local proceedings and ensure a fair trial, citing logistical and security concerns.
In Frankfort Kentucky Judge Cantrill grants five defendants a change of venue in the Goe Bel assassination case. The group includes Caleb Powers and others with a dispute over the new venue county as the June term looms. Hearing on bail motions will proceed this week in the changing venue context.
