Sir John Macdonald dies after long illness in Ottawa
Sir John Macdonald, premier of Canada, died Saturday night at 10 15 in Ottawa. Beside him at Earnscliffe were Lady Macdonald and family. A state funeral plan was announced with private removal to Parliament and a public service at St Albans church Kingston followed by interment in the Macdonald family vault.

Rose Polytechnic students led by 12 of 19 prizes in a three-college intercollegiate field day in Terre Haute Indiana on a Saturday night. Shot by His Intended Victim in Mount Vernon Killing
