A Deserter in the Guard House and a West Point Recruit
In the Presidio San Francisco a prisoner named Murray faces inspection after a deserter accusation while Lieut Stuyvesant, Gen Vinton’s aide, and young Lt Sandy Ray observe. A missing Foster recruit hints at family ties and army loyalty as Vinton’s fleet sails toward Manila with Stuyvesant watching a pursuing steamer near Alcatraz.
