A Columbus Ohio paper tells how Snooze, famed as the greatest Harlem life-saver, feigns danger with a street gamin to lure crowds. He dives, rescues a revived child after several plunges, and nets $10 from a grateful spectator as he continues his risky act. He boasts thirty seven medals and claims hundreds earned, with one life saved and thirty more.
A physician recounts treating Mr H who collapsed with a purple face. Fears of apoplexy prompt bleeding and blister tactics from multiple doctors. Mr H recovers after a blistered head episode and abstains from wine, realizing his weakness for spirits caused the scare.
The fastest rock excavation was in the Delaware Lackawanna and Western Railroad tunnel at Factoryville Pennsylvania. The tunnel is 2200 feet long with a 16 by 20 inch diameter heading. It progressed 7216 feet in five months ten days with two faces. Contractors say it surpasses prior work by 200 feet. The greatest work in one month was 502 feet.

Five suspects watched by French officers are named as Michael Maurice of Buffalo New York Patrick Dillon of Paterson New Jersey John Liston and Richard Liston of Denison City Texas and Thomas Ryan of Brooklyn New York. The French government has urged Paris prefectures to assist detective work and Britain weighs expulsion actions on the suspects.
A blaze destroyed the Cedar Works in Alcymony Virginia on February 28. Loss estimated at 75,000 dollars. More than 100 men and boys were left out of work as sparks and flames damaged multiple buildings.
The Democratic Central Committee outlines delegate representation for the 1882 convention, detailing one delegate for every two votes and rules for committee organization, credential challenges, and delegate tickets. Proceedings set for June 25 with rooms in the State Auditor's office and court area.
