About 150 soldiers returned home after Adjt. Gen. Collier, acting on Taylor's orders, dismissed those not wishing to stay. Henry Clay Miner, prominent New York theatrical manager, died of apoplexy at 58 on Riverside Drive. He collapsed while preparing to drive with his wife.
