Burglar Shot by Dunkirk Watchman During Escape
Night Watchman Osborne of Dunkirk surprised burglars in Harry Staddler’s grocery at 2 am. He and fellow guards surrounded the store and captured two men while a third attempted to flee. Osborne’s fatal shot struck under the right arm and pierced the heart. The slain man was identified as Welch. others named Harrington and Big Dan were arrested, work in Red Key.
