A new Whitechapel murder leaves a semi conscious woman dying with a throat wound. A crepe hat found nearby fuels speculation that the killer may be a woman or a man in female attire and possibly Jack the Ripper, who fled as strangers approached.
Newark New Jersey February 14 riot and bloodshed erupted when non union spinners crossed the river from Newark to Kearney. A crowd of about 2060 attacked landing workers many girls crushed and one girl clubbed. Willie Richmond nine was shot in the foot by a special agent. Glass shattered as militancy spread.
Chattanooga dispatch reports City Attorney Warder, jailed for murder, is deemed insane. His health deteriorates under pressure and he may die from nerve strain. Judge Warder remains confined for the killing of his son in law, Simpson Fagette, a prominent banker, with his trial postponed due to two pistol wounds suffered.
John Graham of Buiarport Illinois pleaded guilty to murdering Duan Johnson a Russellville merchant who won a ladies hand at a ball two weeks earlier Johnson was fatally stabbed at the event and Graham received a thirty year sentence at Chester.
Chicago reports the Jackson Park grading for the world fair paused as contractors halted work amid fears Italian laborers in the area could attack them. In Pennsylvania David Fox, Nottingham mine survivor, was fatally killed by a premature blast. Illinois Senate ballots shift with Palmer leading at 101 votes on the eighty-fifth and ninety-fifth ballots.
Andrew Palmer a member of Wisconsin Territorial Legislature in 1817 and 1848 and longtime Janesville resident died here Wednesday at age 63. He ran a weekly in Toledo and later was involved with the Janesville Times during the Civil War era.
Charles Gursch a West side grocer was killed at the entrance of the tunnel by a cable car in Cnicano on February 14. The accident prompted an investigation into the city transit system and safety measures.

Knights of Labor demands: Australian ballot, tax parity, free textbooks, end private detective violence, oppose convict labor.
