Transports Reach San Francisco With War Dead and Sick
The war department reported the Indiana Pathan and Sherman arrived in San Francisco from Manila. aboard the Sherman were Majors Cook and Matthews and other officers plus sick and discharged soldiers. Col Thompson Dead in Terre Haute Residence
Col Richard W. Thompson died at his Terre Haute home Friday morning after a lengthy unconscious period. He did not recognize others in his final hours, and the end was peaceful with Dr Roberts, Mrs Henry, two Thompson daughters, a younger son, and relatives present. Funeral plans not announced.

Freight collision Kills Six Near Ford River Switch
In Escanaba Michigan fast freight No 289 and the Metropolitan branch accommodation collided at Ford River Switch seven miles south of the city. Bag gageman Hill and Brakeman Hill were killed along with Miss Seymour of Shaffer who died from injuries. The bodies of three unknown persons were recovered and several others were injured.
