An advertisement extols Syrup of Figs as a pleasant taste, effective for kidneys and bowels, cleansing the system and curing constipation. It claims prompt action, healthful ingredients, and broad appeal, noting bottles of 50c and 1 supplies at druggists and urging customers to avoid substitutes.
Thos P Starr believed to be the cattle thief indicted by a grand jury. He was arrested in Gilman and Sheriff Smith will return him to answer charges. The report notes Starr’s earlier thefts from Wolf Stillabower and Hamlin and a prior payment to Wolf. An additional note mentions Dr Applleman the chronic disease specialist as a notable upcoming visitor.

Five men halted driver John Creighton on Mather street and seized five registered mail pouches from a wagon delivering stock yard mail. Authorities say $1,700 in greenbacks and gold were taken. several suspects, including five ex convicts, are under surveillance as police pursue the robbers.
