Despatches from Constantinople report about one thousand killed in Kaisara with Kurds mutilating corpses. Churches burned turned to mosques and stables as refugees flee to Van and Trebizond. Aid delays threaten widespread famine deaths.
A Havana dispatch reports 800 insurgents surprised 72 Spanish troops foraging near Minas between Nuevitas and Puerto Principe. The Spaniards fought back but were crushed. 23 officers and privates were killed, while most others were wounded or captured. A Spanish column pursued the rebels. Other dispatches note Gen Oliver defeating Gomez and Maceo at Mabjjuna with heavy insurgent losses and 5 Spaniards killed, 20 wounded.
In St Louis on Saturday non union pants makers joined Epstein and Rosenburg workers as a wage cut strike continued. Strikers assaulted new employees injuring several. Seven arrests were made and a midnight meeting followed. Police patrols are on duty in Judea where the disturbance occurred.
A blaze in Hagerstown Maryland early Sunday destroyed the Boston clothing house Beeler Bennett’s grocery store and the care of W D Wilson. Losses total about $80000 with insurance about two thirds. The fire started in the cellar of the Boston clothing house owned by M E Jacobson.
In Wellston Ohio on December 16 a clash erupted between the C H V T and C U D railways as the latter attempted to gain access to Jackson county mines. About 250 workers and over 1,000 bystanders watched as engines and cars were wrecked amid a night of blockades and debris, with property losses running into thousands.

At Purdue University in Lafayette Indiana on Saturday afternoon a senior student game against the faculty led to Professor M Golden suffering a broken leg after a hard tackle during a star run round the end. He was removed from the field for treatment and his injury was confirmed as a broken leg.
Charles J. Mallen of California wed Mrs. Mary Gunnion in Richmond on Thanksgiving. The couple planned a store. they went to Cincinnati to buy stock. Mrs. Gunnion says she gave nearly $1,000 in cash to her husband who then disappeared. Police believe he ran away with the money.
The American liner Indiana under Captain Boggs, from Philadelphia, collided with the British steamer Zamora midstream at Liveroor. A large hole opened in the Indiana’s port side, water rushing in. Tugs aided, and the Indiana was towed to the landing stage for passengers to disembark.
