Fire destroys Powder River Cattle Company plant

A large fire near Wincosin Wisconsin on a Wednesday evening wiped out the Powder River Cattle Company plant seven miles south of the town. The blaze, sparked by spontaneous gases in the feed mill, burned rapidly, leaving nothing but ashes in under an hour. Three cattle barns, tool and horse barns, engine room, granary, hay barns, slaughterhouses and several outbuildings were lost along with 206 tons of baled hay and various equipment.
