City officials reviewed a map of city financed water lines and approved a survey for the Diehl Subdivision to secure easement rights and a bill of sale. The Plan Commission reported its annual 1965 66 year and budgets of 650 dollars and 7,000 dollars for the plan and library for 1967 1968. Meeting adjourned at 11:20 p.m.

The National Science Foundation awards Dr Clifford J Murino of St Louis University a 49700 grant to study mesoscale convection systems using Nimbus and Tyros satellite data and photos from a future tropical satellite. Louis Haller, 77, of 514 N Rapp Ave in Columbia, died Monday at St Elizabeth's Hospital Belleville after a brief illness. A retired farmer and Modern Woodsmen member, he was born near New Hanover. Services set for 2 p.m. today at Schmidt Funeral Home, burial in St Pauls Cemetery. Survivors include his wife Mathilda Harres, daughter Violet Stumpf, sister Margaret Kolodziej and grandson James Stumpf.

March of Dimes Presents Salk Book to Monroe Schools
The Monroe County Chapter of the National Foundation March of Dimes presented the book Break Through, the saga of Dr. Jonas Salk, to all Monroe County high schools and to public libraries in Columbia and Waterloo. Copies are available at the County Nurse office, Monroe County Medical Society, and the local chapter chairman Wm. C. Gummersheimer. Dr. Salk developed the first polio vaccine.

Herman Dalkert Hospitalized After Heart Attack
Herman Dalkert editor and publisher of the Waterloo Times is a patient at St. Clement's Hospital in Red Bud after a serious heart attack at his home. He was taken Friday morning and is reported resting comfortably. Dalkert had attended the opening game at Busch Memorial Stadium in St. Louis the prior evening.
