The city plans water service extensions along Bluff Side Board and notified property owners to prepare lines. Diehl subdivision lines were accepted with restrictions on taps and a 1% line deemed inadequate. The city explored additional water revenue bonds with legal and fiscal guidance. The plan commission was asked to study south annexation and utility extensions. A cat housing complaint at 310 S Ferret St was filed and forwarded to the city attorney. Two-way radio in maintenance vehicles was proposed for cost inquiry. Meeting adjourned at 10:55 p.m.

Record Demand For Electricity Sets New High Monday
Electricity demand in the Illinois Power Company service area reached a new peak Monday July 11 with 1,263,000 kilowatts between 1 and 2 pm. The heat wave kept air conditioners and fans running, marking the third daily high in July. High Sunday reached 1,031,000 kilowatts, with 889,000 last Sunday.
