The Monroe County Board of Commissioners elected Democrat Glen Esker as chairman for the coming year. Other members are Republican Raymond F. Rippelmeyer, beginning his fourth term, and Richard Ruff. The board increased highway workers wages to 2.65 an hour and approved paying the county share for Voelker's Crossing gates and lights. Rippelmeyer was appointed to a three year term on the Monroe County Board of Health.

Paul Heisler Promoted At Monsanto Plant
Paul E. Heisler a longtime Monsanto executive at the Krummrich plant is promoted to assistant to the director of manufacturing for the Organic Division.
