Both engines wrecked and traffic blocked two hours. Zanone escaped by jumping as brakes were applied. The cause centers on a switch at the south end of the standing train left open or mis-set. Train No. 14 struck the standing engine after moving at 18 to 20 mph. Harley lived with his sister at 405 Humphrey Street in Nashville. The wreck prompted a court of inquiry by Supt Brooks.
