County agents have visited clubs at Water Valley, Ganta Fe, Woodrow, and Greenfield Bend to mobilize support and discuss community needs. The outreach aims to strengthen local engagement and coordinate agricultural and civic programs with residents.
Maury county agents Mrs. Artie W Bryan and B A McLean organize boys and girls 4 H clubs into a single cultural body across communities like Water Valley Santa Fe and Greenfield High School. They plan joint meetings, women and men participation, and a strong local extension effort to boost poultry live stock and farming prosperity.
General Green, arriving from France, declares Allied line may bend in places but cannot break. He notes German efforts and asserts British and French resistance will halt any offensive, and he will continue toward victory after Armorican support. He speaks aboard Camp Lowes in Washington.

Washington February 21. The agricultural department warned Southern farmers not to overestimate cold weather's kill power on boll weevils. It said sufficient weevils survive cold snaps to repopulate and devastate all but the earliest cotton crop.
Lewisburg High School will host a boys basketball game with Cullecka High Friday afternoon at Cullecka Bothame. The teams are the only closely matched pair in the local standings and both squads seek a key win.
The Columbia Century Club held its meeting last night at the G ed hall. W. M. Chattin was re-elected president and Jim W. Thorns re-elected secretary, with several officers and directors serving long terms. The club will forgo a banquet this year and will keep absent members on rolls without dues until the end of the war.
Friday at 10 am pupils of Mary Hines primary and kindergarten school stage a patriotic program at the Columbia Institute for George Washington's birthday. Congo, recitations, drills and more planned. attendees know a treat awaits those who attend.

Officers named include S E Stephens J H Johnson R A Akin J P Stephens W L Seagraves Ananias Blair Walter Dodson J M Hunter. committees list pres vice pres and secretaries as communities rally to buy savings stamps and support the war effort.
A Columbia girl may rise to film stardom joining Mary Pickford and Theda Bara as Star Photo Play Co and Vogue theatre launch a campaign. Local hopefuls audition for a University of California tryout and a chance to star in a locally filmed motion picture with prizes including a Universal City trip or $160 in cash.
The Urban Garden Committee, chaired by Horace Rainey, is set to meet within the next few days to oversee intensified cultivation of all gardens and ensure vacant lots are put to use as truck patches or potato crops. Members include Dr. W P Woldridge, George P Martin, Judge E E Erwin, and others, with government supervision by the council of defense.

Columbia High school will unfurl a large service flag bearing more than 76 stars at the chapel Friday morning at 8:30 o clock as part of a Washington's Birthday celebration. Speakers include Dr Geo C Watts and Dr B D Logan. Public invited.
William P. Boyd buyer for The J. Rosenthal Co. has returned from the eastern markets after weeks selecting spring and summer goods. He reports abundant merchandise and valuable lines for the trade. He notes the powder works being erected at Handley Bend and a crowded Cincinnati to Nashville train carrying workers for the plant.
Cleveland, Feb 21. Thomas Cuddy, of this city, sent back his draft questionnaire with a red ink note claiming he is fit though one leg is shorter. He asked to be wired when and where to report and said he is ready to fight at the drop of a hat. He had been refused at the local Marine Corps recruiting station due to leg discrepancy.
Washington Feb. 20 Officials said through passenger service between New York and Chicago will be cut to one fast train each way daily after a nation wide curtailment of service. A survey by Administrator McAdoo’s office will determine traffic conditions and which services may be discontinued or altered to permit sweeping eliminations.
Parus February twenty one A report from United Press details a German man spy plot aimed at inciting insurrection among French miners in Paris and Birmingham. The scheme reportedly urged miners to return to work amid ongoing German offensives as authorities tracked transfers and possible incentives.
Ten thousand metal trade workers are idle after a strike order. Large steel plants in the Ensley area run with few employees at work. Workers seek an eight hour day and higher wages amid the stoppage that affects unionized plants.
German dispatches from The Hague report Germany will not seek peace with Russia until guarantees for Russian debts to the Central Powers are secured. New Zealand troops reportedly captured German prisoners near Pozneng wood after successful raids, with enemy artillery active yesterday evening as per Gen Haig.
