W. P. G. Harding, governor of the Federal Reserve Board, states business has passed the acute stage and basic financial conditions are much better than a year ago. He predicts a revival leading to a new era of prosperity for the United States as 1922 begins.
Principal R Lee Thomas reports progress on the Andrews school annex with favorable weather expected to finish by January 1. Officials believe the project will ease congestion in city schools by moving one or two high school grades to the annex and freeing space for other relief.
Ex Confederate veteran Vian Hicks, aged 83, died Tuesday morning at his Theta area home after several weeks illness. A longtime Christian Church member, he served through the Civil War with credit to the South. He was Kentucky born and moved to Maury County after the war. Survived by his wife and eight children. Funeral held Wednesday at the Theta Baptist Church with interment in Theta Cemetery. Pallbearers named. Arrangements by Malley Funeral Company.
County agents and the Farm Bureau commit to expanding boys and girls club work across the county. After year start, community clubs will meet to set plans for twelve months, aiming to double membership and organize new clubs in lacking areas. Older residents’ cooperation is highlighted as essential, with Enterprise and Sullivan cited for strong community support and high corn yields.

Nashville telegram reports the death of Dr Sessler Hoss at his Muskogee Oklahoma home. He was the youngest son of the late Bishop B Hives and rose to prominence in medicine. Cause is pneumonia.
Special to The Herald Nashville Tenn December chairman J N Fisher of the Democratic state committee said the committee would meet in January to call a convention daily in April to draft a platform for the state campaign. Fisher notes a general demand for any timely convention.
With two days left in December, the county shows a surge in marriage licenses. By this morning Lipscomb County recorded fifty nine licenses for the month, nearing the record set in December 1920, just six behind the prior high. The total for the month may surpass last year as the closing days approach.
