Maury county farmers are urged to attend a two day short course in Columbia on December 1 and 14 at the county council of agriculture. W L Clevenger and C C Pioumey lead sessions on feeding dairy cows, milk testing, dairy product manufacture, cream and milk handling, and beef production. R P Hite discusses sheep care. The event aims to better prepare farmers to feed and market livestock, with others invited and local relatives welcomed.
Maury county hosts a large poultry exposition with over 100 varieties on display. The event features white Leghorns, Game fowls, Barred Rocks, and Bronze turkeys, judged by experts including Mrs Florence Forbes. Exhibits draw crowds and include chicks and ducklings, with prices around eighty cents per dozen.
Fragmentary report describes a sale of two prime condition mules weighing about 2500 pounds for a total of $208. Names and specifics are garbled but indicate a high value purchase in a late 19th or early 20th century context with references to buyers or sellers in a district.
Farmers report wheat and cover crops like rye and crimson clover have improved after last week’s rain and milder temperatures. If harsher weather does not arrive soon, growth should withstand cold, aiding fall and winter pasture and reducing feeding costs. An unusual dullness in comments hints at next year’s corn outlook being affected by unusual weather.
A corrupted passage references names and items such as Jeter, Rose, and Hern, with unclear actions and dates. The legible parts show letter-like phrases, repeated phrases about reading and talking, and stray terms indicating a personal note or diary fragment rather than a clear event.
Fragmentary OCR text shows a statement by Mrs John Fon aged 61 claiming joyous state results from gutter issues in Tarlac and referencing decades of suffering. The transcription is highly garbled with many missing phrases and unclear attributions. Unable to extract coherent event or context.
