The dying statement of D. Knight, killed by W. M. Green, was admitted as evidence after nearly an hour of argument. Daughters of the deceased testified, one present at the time of the killing, but their details added little beyond prior testimony. Neighbor J. M. Scott also testified, with further examination postponed at noon.
William B. Whitaker of Cross Bridges announces his candidacy for Sargent at Arms of the House of Representatives. He previously served as Sargent at Arms for two years, earned a creditable record, and ran a strong race for the Democratic nomination for Sheriff. He plans to campaign vigorously in Nashville ahead of the legislature meeting.
Special to The Herald from Decatur Alabama reports ongoing search for Conrad Harris who drowned in the Tennessee River. His father, a Cullooka Maury County Tennessee businessman, has stayed in Decatur for about a week and offered a $100 reward for his son's body recovery.
World War II era dispatch notes Major General Bell, formerly chief in Kentucky, will proceed to San Francisco then sail on December 6 for Manila to take command of the Division of the Philippines, relieving Major General Duvall who retires next January.
The Daily Herald announces the holiday issue to be published December ninth. Maury County shows a ten year population decline of 2 247 people five per cent from 42 703 in 1900 to 40 456 in 1910. The Tennessee total rises to 2 154 789, up 114 178 from 1900, with most gains in large cities. Advertisers urged to submit copy promptly for this Christmas number, with Santa letters from children due by December sixth.

Alexandria La Nov 25 a new speed record for criminal trial was set as Peter Barlinda a young Italian was arrested for robbing in a freight car at Boyes La brought to district court and pled guilty. He received six months in the State prison with the entire process from arrest to sentence completed in under two hours.
Dr C L McMahon, a veterinarian, is limping after a mule stepped on his left foot while he tried to remove a wart. This marks the first injury for him in five years or more.
New York Nov 29. On the Clyde liner Mohawk sailing today for Charleston and Jacksonville the first woman wireless telegraph operator in such a role aboard an ocean steamer takes charge of the wireless room. Miss Graynella Packer of Jacksonville Fla aged 22 has two years as manager of a telegraph office at Sanford Fla the shipboard wireless room is the center of interest before the voyage.
The Memphis to Bristol Highway Commission formed in Nashville plans a state wide two day public road project in August 1911. All males over fifteen within three miles of the route would work two days. Officers include W. M. Cassety president and A. W. Wills vice president. The group seeks cooperation from business groups and media statewide.
Twenty suffragettes arrested during the night for smashing windows in government offices were sentenced at Bow Street to two months imprisonment. Sir Albert DeRutzen, chief magistrate of the Metropolitan police court, declared that the women had been treated with too much leniency in the past.
The Democratic State Committee disclosed 382670 spent to elect a state ticket with 303472 in contributions and 30000 borrowed on November 23 totaling 333473. New York County flow totaled 108763 receipts and 106492 disbursements. Winfeld A Huppuch, Dix partner, gave 20000.

Joe T. Wilkes sells his ten year old Valley Milling Company interest at Sawdust Valley to G P Mayberry. Wilkes now concentrates on the mercantile firm Mayberry Wilkes Sargeant and his meat packing business. The sale keeps Sawdust Valley business leadership, with Mayberry described as deeply knowledgeable and capable.
Fresh eggs remain scarce in the local market while cold storage eggs are plentiful and cheaper. A produce firm pays 26 cents a dozen for cold storage eggs, down three cents, with storage planned for April and May. Grocers offer 36 cents a dozen and 85 cents per dozen retail, two dozen for 66 cents, as seasonal supply shifts and earlier stockouts influence prices.
Dr George Boehm and his wife were found hanging in trees after their runaway team slipped down a steep hillside above railroad tracks in Greensburg Pennsylvania. The horses and wagon toppled onto the tracks and a freight train passed by moments later. Both suffered injuries and were treated at Herminis.
