Birmingham April 21 United Press reports 18 000 coal field men women and children in Alabama face hunger as the Salvation Army Brigadier Simonson mobilizes all relief avenues sending a letter to Governor Kilby requesting aid and petitions aim to spur government action to address an unprecedented strike impact.
In Chicago on April 21 five bandits tied up two Amberg State Bank officials and stole $25,100 destined for the Union Trust Company. The robbers escaped with the funds.
Improvements are underway at the Columbia Water and Light Company offices.
