Cedar City Court reports first year caseload figures
Cedar City Court's first year totals include 290 civil cases and 96 state criminal violations filed by the County Attorney. The city filed 269 misdemeanor offenses, with 36 criminal cases bound over and 52 dismissals. Guilty pleas totaled 150, including 67 bail forfeitures, 14 non jury trials, and 10 jury trials. Traffic cases dominated with 730 moving, 239 non moving, and 609 parking violations, producing 50 dismissals, 480 guilty pleas, 863 bail forfeitures, 18 non jury trials, and 2 jury trials. Revenue from fines and forfeitures reached 28,894.08 plus approximately 24,000 yearly meter revenue.
