Dozens were buried in Bucharest as Romania endured a major earthquake that left 1,034 killed and 6,185 injured across the crescent-shaped devastation. Ambulances and funerals filled the capital while authorities aimed to restore normal life, schools reopening and shops ordered to operate.
Corey Moore, 26, a black ex Marine from Warrensville Heights, held Capt Leo Keglovic 48 and 18 year old Sheily Kiggans hostage at the traffic section after noon Monday. He released the girl for a TV set and demanded White House access while contacting reporters. Police Chief Craig Merchant said the situation involves Secret Service and could inspire others to imitate. He urged President Carter to hear the grievances.

The panel noted delivery to St George by Kenworth at no extra cost after verification.
Warnke faced conservative claims he altered senate testimony and that Carter would control arms talks. Senate expected to approve him Wednesday as chief arms negotiator and head of the US Arms Control and Disarmament Agency. Sen. Cranston said Carter would set negotiating stance and be key decision maker.
