Escapees recaptured as Brushy Mountain state wall held
UPI reports Sammy Joe Chapman recaptured the last of five escapees from Brushy Mountain State Prison. Douglas Shelton, serving 9%8 year terms for murder assault and grand larceny, was captured near the Ray area at about 9 am. Warden Stoney Lane noted Ray had $240 when captured.
