Utah Employment Security Division forecasts continued statewide job growth in 1977 with unemployment dropping to about 5.4 percent from 6.1 percent in 1976. Nonfarm jobs rose about 24,000 in 1976, and the report expects a brief January layoff period before eight to ten months of rapid growth across most sectors except federal government.
