Carter rules out wage and price controls for four years

President-elect Jimmy Carter said he has no plans to seek wage and price controls unless a national emergency arises. He told NBC’s Today program there will be no authority sought in the next four years and previewed cabinet picks including Cyrus Vance as secretary of state and Bert Lance as OMB director. He urged cooperation with Congress to boost G N P growth and noted a peaceful stance with the Soviet Union. He was informed of Ford’s bomber orders but expects final say on the matter.

Intermountain to buy Dixie Medical Center in St George
