Colfax Debuts Depot Style TAPS Building and Theater Gift
In January Gary and Pene Todd bought the old TAPS building from Sierra Energy and planned a Depot style restoration with a new roof and new paint matching Southern Pacific colors. The site opened July 1 hosting four new downtown businesses. In February Paris Endicott-Chase received a motion picture theater from her grandfather Wendell Jacob for her 13th birthday, becoming the youngest movie theater owner in the world as Colfax High Drama staged Shakespeare on March 11 in the new auditorium.

Colfax resident Lanny Rickard and his children spotted a box of Christmas gifts along the I-80 center divider on December 23. He debated returning them but turned around and gathered the packages using car lights to identify them. Rickard and his girlfriend Amy Whiteacre planned to notify local stations to locate the owner.

Happy Donkey Victory in Placer County Court Ruling
